The Lean-to Oak Structure
A custom design for a client this lean-to Oak structure is complete with a cedar shingle roof. At one end it has an open-roofed area that sits above a hot tub perfect for sunny days and star-filled nights. The area was previously unused because it sits at the side of the house and was simply used for access. Now utilised and turned into an outdoor lounging area that is totally private.

“From the outset and our first communication with Josh, we were presented with someone who was clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about their work. We had a space - a space that was never used but had so much potential - and we didn’t know how to make our visions a reality. We knew we wanted an outdoor sanctuary and some bespoke furniture to match, but beyond this we were not sure how to make this work in the space we had. Josh listened to all of our ideas and has created for us an oasis of calm, that is both beautiful to look at, practical & comfortable in its purpose and more than we could have imagined possible. The attention to detail is what makes this project so unique & the skill in Josh’s work is visible in every part of the finished product.
Josh was immensely helpful at every stage of the planning and nothing was too much trouble. He knew what we needed and guided us carefully to the final design. What we have now is an outdoor area that allows us to feel like we are on holiday all year round both in how it looks and smells(!), and we feel so lucky to have found someone who cared as much as we did about making this build personal and special. Everyone who comes to the house is overwhelmed by the size and skill of the work Josh has done; the little details in the final finish on both the main structure and the furniture is demonstrative of the quality of the work throughout and we are so happy with the final finish. We cannot recommend Josh’s work highly enough - thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us make that part of our house, a new part of our home that we are finally happy & proud to use every day!
